GENERAL CONDITIONS

Application
When submitting your application, you accept the general conditions of Instituto Andalusí de Español. We accept applications by e-mail, phone, fax or mail.

Confirmation
After receiving the application, we will send you a confirmation and invoice containing the amount that needs to be paid. A deposit of € 100 for the course fee and € 100 for the accommodation fee needs to be received to ensure your place (For private apartments there is a deposit of 50 % of the accommodation amount). The rest of the amount has to be paid one month before the course starts. If the enrollment is made earlier than 1 month before the beginning of the course, the total amount has to be paid at once.

Cancellation
For cancellations, which the school must receive through email, fax or letter signed by the student, we have the following charges:

  • For cancellations made more than 6 weeks before the course starts, we will charge you € 100.
  • In case of cancellations made more than 3 weeks before the course starts, we will charge you € 200      (€ 100 for the course and € 100 for the accommodation)
  • For cancellations made from 7 days before the course starts until non-appearance, all fees become non refundable

After a programme has started, there is no refund for any course and accommodation.

Non-appearance and delay
With late arrival or non-appearance, there is no possibility to retrieve the missed instruction or to get a refund.

Changes
We reserve the right to modify programs, if service providers or other non-foreseeable circumstances or events force us to do so.

Change of courses
If you already started the course and you want to change your course to a course with fewer hours, no refund will be given on the difference in hours.

Suspending
We reserve the right to suspend students with bad behavior, breaking house rules or constant absence, as well as extract them from the accommodation.

Bank holidays
There are no classes on national and local holidays. These classes are not recoverable.

CONDITIONS ADULT COURSES

Age
The minimum age for this course is 16 years old.

Exception is the family course, where the children have to be accompanied by their parents. The age for this course is 5 to 12 years old.

What to bring
Please bring a notebook, a pen and a dictionary with you.

Wi-Fi
In the school Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

First day
The first school day starts with a level test at 08:30 to assign you to a class that equals your level of Spanish. There will be a sightseeing tour every Monday to introduce the main attractions of Malaga.

In case of the arrival of more than 20 new students, we organize a sightseeing tour, which will take place in the morning (09:30 to 12:00*). If there are less than 20 students, a sightseeing tour will be held for all new students in the afternoon after classes (16:30 to 18:30*).
* Times could be subject to change.

Duration class
The duration of one lesson is 55 minutes.

Afternoon classes
Afternoon classes are unlikely, but possible.

Activities
All adults are doing their activities together, with the exception of the ‘50+ Course’.

All activities are for the level complete beginners until advanced. Bear in mind that all explanations are normally spoken in Spanish. However, if there are things that you don’t understand, you could always ask for an English translation.

Minimum duration
The course has to be booked for a minimum of 1 week, there is no maximum amount of weeks. The exception is the ‘Annual Training Course’.

Costs teaching material
The teaching materials cost € 25. The teaching materials for the DELE course cost € 50. The amount has to be paid on the first day of school.

Size classes
We offer small sized classes, the maximum amount is 9 students per class.

Certificate
At the end of the course every student receives a certificate. Please note that a certificate is only given when at least 80% of the lessons are attended.

Bank holidays
There are no classes on national and local holidays. These classes are not recoverable.

For the year 2017 there are no classes on the following dates:
02.01. – 06.01.; 28.02.; 14.04.; 17.04.; 01.05.; 15.08.; 08.09.; 12.10.; 01.11.; 08.12.; 25.12. – 29.12.

CONDITIONS JUNIOR COURSES (13 - 17)

Age
The minimum age for this course is 13 years old.

Guidance
During the students’ time at our school, they will be guided from someone from the school. After every excursion, one of our employee will guide the young student to a central meeting point close to their family.

Attendance
The young students are expected to be at school every day. If the student doesn’t show up, we will contact the host family to ask for the reason of absence.

Activities
All juniors (aging 13 to 17) are doing their activities together.

All activities are included in the price. We recommend that the students participate in all afternoon activities, but at least 3 activities per week are obligatory. If the student would not like to participate in all 5 activities, they would have 2 free afternoons per week from 16:00 to 20:00.

Parental/Guardian Consent Form
The parental/guardian consent form must be send before the course starts. You can download this form in ‘Courses’ and then ‘Junior Course (13-17)’.

Pocket money
We recommend about € 50 pocket money per week for full board and € 80 for half board.

Going out at night
We recommend 22:00 during the week and in the weekend at 24:00.

Medical
Please let us know any medical or mental issue truthfully. Bear in mind that deliberately withholding information concerning these issues could have serious consequences leading up to suspension without refunds. The medical information will be treated in strict confidence.

For the year 2017 there are no classes on the following dates:
14.04.; 17.04.; 15.08.; 12.10.

CONDITIONS HOST FAMILIES

Minimum age
The minimum age to book a host family is 13 years old.

Keys
If you book a transfer, the driver will bring you to your host family. If you don’t book the transfer, you can directly to your host family.

Wi-Fi
In most families free Wi-Fi is available. However, there are still families that don’t have Wi-Fi. In the school Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

Distance
The average distance of the accommodations to the school is 10 minutes by foot.

Check in and check out
You normally arrive on a Sunday and leave your room on a Saturday.

Upon request, it is possible to change these days.

Minimum duration
The host families have to be booked for a minimum of 1 week, there is no maximum amount of weeks.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the house.

Towels
Your host family will provide you with towels.

Wash
The family will wash your clothes once a week.

Cleaning
The family will clean the communal areas and change the sheets once a week.

Friends
If a friend comes to visit you, please contact the school secretary to make sure your friend can stay there. The price per person per night is € 25.

Post or packages
For receiving post or packages, please give the address of the school.

CONDITIONS APARTMENTS

Minimum age
The minimum age to book an apartment is 16 years old.

Keys
If you book a transfer, the driver will have the keys of the apartment.  If you don’t book the transfer, you can pick up the keys at a hostel in the neighbourhood near your apartment.

IMPORTANT: The hostel where you can pick up your keys is open from 08:00 am until 22:00 pm. If you know that you will arrive while the hostel is closed, please book our transfer service.

Wi-Fi
In the apartments Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

Distance
The average distance of the accommodations to the school is 10 minutes by foot.

Check in and check out
You normally arrive on a Sunday and leave your room on a Saturday. The check out (normally) has to be done before 12:00 am.

It is no problem to leave your suitcase in the house if you got a late(r) flight.

Upon request, it is possible to change these days and hours.

The apartments have to be booked for a minimum of 1 week, there is no maximum amount of weeks.

High season
In 2017 there is a high season fee from the 11th of June until the 16th of September.

  • Shared apartments cost € 30 per week extra during the high season.
  • Private apartments cost € 60 per week extra during this high season.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the house.

Towels
Towels will not be provided for, so please take them along on your travel.

Wash
Every apartment has a washing machine where you can wash your clothes.

Cleaning
The cleaning service will come once a week to clean the communal areas and change the sheets.

Friends
If a friend comes to visit you, please contact the school secretary to make sure your friend can stay there. The price per person per night is € 25. Bear in mind that this just applies to shared apartments.
